Several weeks ago, AZ Desert School held a Beam Signing ceremony for the nearly completed “Field of Dreams”!
Hosted by Tolleson Elementary School District Superintendent, Dr. Lupita Hightower, the ceremony included speeches from Diego Passmore (CHASSE Building Team), Carolina Haros (SPS+ Architects), David Suder (Director of Operations at TESD), and our own Principal Brenda Catlett. Attended by 70+ AZ Desert JAG students and student council members, the speeches focused on career opportunities available within the design and construction industries.
“I began my career in the trades, working as a mason. I did many things…air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and roofing work. Over the last 30 years, hard work, an eagerness to learn, and a positive attitude have allowed me to rise to the position I have today: General Superintendent for one of Arizona’s largest construction companies. These characteristics are not unique to me. You all have them too! You can be anything you want to be. So dream big!
